Cecil Adams, Jr.
Founder and CEO
 
Mr. Adams is a native of Charleston South Carolina and a product of the Compton, California’s Unified School System. Mr. Adams is married with four adult children and four grandkids to date. Mr. Adams is a Vietnam Veteran and a community leader with over 20 years experience working in higher education.
 
Mr. Adams received his B.A. Degree is Social Science from Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon where he also served as their Multicultural Affairs Officer.
 
Mr. Adams relocated to Winona, Minnesota and served as the Coordinator for the Office of Cultural Diversity at Winona State University. Mr. Adams also served as Facilitator of Western Wisconsin Technical College’s Next Step Program.
 
Mr. Adams is the President and CEO of Scholarship Research Institute (SRI) established in 1975 to serve underrepresented and at-risk students. Mr. Adams is Founder and CEO of the African American Mutual Assistance Network, Inc. AAMAN was incorporated in 2006.
 
Mr. Adams served on many committees, boards and has received many certificates and awards and developed city, campus and student organizations and programs such as:
 
·         Cultural Awareness Taskforce- (CAT) to facilitate campus-wide cross cultural
     communications and understanding.
·         Hispanic Association of Students- (HAS).
·         Asian Club.
·         Minority Awards Program.
·         MECA program (Multicultural Exposure to Corporate America), a partnership with
     the 3-M Corporation and Minnesota State Colleges and Universities.
·         Summer Internship program with the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN.
·         Cinch de Mayo celebrations.
·         Pow Wow celebrations.
·         Black History Month, Kwanzaa and Martin Luther King Junior citywide
     celebrations.
·         International and Soul Food Dinners.
·         Asian American Awareness Week and More!
 
Mr. Adams retired in 1998 from Winona State University and began uniting black communities nationwide.
